While employed at Route One Apparel we had the pleasure to explore merchandise options with the Washington Capitals. The Capitals came to the creative team with the goal of finding ways to unite the DMV area, into one design that could be utilized. These were some of the initial concepts that I had a pleasure of working on.
"DMV IS ALL CAPS" was a play on the Capitals exiting "All Caps" campaign. The incorporation of the DMV represents that the DMV is in fact all of the capitals fans. The D is represented with a DC Flag, the M is represented with a Maryland flag, and the V is represented with a Virginia flag.
Designs incorporating the DMV flags into the Capitals secondary logo that has three stars, representing the three stars in the DC flag, and the 3 states incorporated into the DMV.
